Ted Henifin: Solutions to Flooding and Pollution Problems in Our Region

Solutions to flooding and pollution problems in our region were the topic of the Virginia Beach Forum presentation by Ted Henifin on April 30, 2019, at 7:30 p.m. at the Brock Environmental Center off Shore Dr. at 3663 Marlin Bay Drive in Virginia Beach.

Ted Henifin focused on the many environmental benefits of filling underground aquifers pumped with treated gray water to reduce pollution to the Chesapeake Bay and halt sinking ground levels and combat flooding.

Mr. Henifin has been General Manager of HRSD since 2006. He previously served as Director of Public Works for the City of Hampton. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Virginia. He is a registered professional engineer and has been active with professional associations throughout his career. He currently serves on the board of directors for the National Association of Clean Water Agencies and Virginia Forever, and on the steering committee for the US Water Alliance’s Value of Water Campaign. He is a past president of the Virginia Association of Municipal Wastewater Agencies.
